Bike Challenge

Description

  • Stationary bikes will be set up on the second-floor foyer in the PAC
  • Teams register to reserve a spot in the challenge
  • Teams will be comprised of faculty and staff, students, colleges, administrative units or other on-campus groups
  • Teams must ensure the group’s assigned bike is in motion from the start of the challenge until the end (11 am – 1 pm)
  • Sign-up sheets with time intervals (at teams discretion) will be assigned to each bike
EXAMPLE
Team of 8 — each rider would be on the bike for 15 min
Team of 12 — each rider would be on the bike for 10 min
Team of 14 — each rider would be on the bike for 9 min, etc.
  • During the rider’s assigned time on the bike, people can donate and challenge the rider to perform other exercises from the Physical Task Menu. An Interac machine will be available
  • Change rooms are available in the PAC for all participants
  • Teams that raise the most money will win a prize package from the Physical Activity Complex

All participants will be entered into a draw for a prize package from Campus Rec

  All proceeds will go to the Heart and Stroke Foundation

Physical Tasks Menu

One of: 
  • 10 Push-Ups
  • 15 Squats
  • 20 Sit-ups
  • 3 Flights of Stairs
  • 30-second wall sit
  • 1 running lap of the track
  • 30-second front plank
  • Increase resistance “1” on the bike for 1 min
  • Sprint at current resistance (RPMs over 100) for 1 min
If the Rider matches the donation, they no longer have to complete the exercise.
One of:
  • Increase resistance “1” for the remaining time
  • Endurance Pack
    • 2 laps around the indoor track
    • 5 flights of stairs
    • 45-second wall sit
    • 45-second front plank
  • Strength Pack
    • 10 burpees
    • 20 push-ups
    • 30 squats
    • 40 lunges
If the Rider matches the donation, they no longer have to complete the exercise.
The rider has to complete any of the chosen $5 packs with no opportunity to pay and avoid doing the exercises.
